TD Ameritrade
I led the strategic refresh and responsive redesign of TD Ameritrade’s digital ecosystem. The core challenge was translating complex technical specifications into clear, benefit-driven narratives that empowered investors of all levels. By simplifying the user journey, I transformed the site from a technical utility into a compelling resource that drove both client engagement and tool adoption.
Strategic Clarity & Messaging We shifted the brand voice from transactional to customer-centric, replacing dense jargon with intuitive value propositions. As seen in the "Why TD Ameritrade" landing page, we prioritized human-centric imagery and messaging—like "Smart investors, made smarter"—to frame the platform as a partner in the user’s financial success rather than just a trading tool.
Desktop Refresh & Brand Authority The desktop experience was overhauled to balance modern UI/UX with professional-grade functionality. Whether for a casual investor or a power user with a multi-monitor setup, the interface maintained a clean, intentional hierarchy. We standardized the signature "TD Ameritrade Green" and refined typography to ensure a cohesive experience across everything from the main site to advanced charting tools.
Responsive & Mobile-First Design To ensure a seamless transition across devices, we developed a fully responsive mobile experience. We translated complex desktop features into mobile-friendly modules, using simplified iconography and narrative-driven flows. By placing the "Open New Account" call-to-action (CTA) consistently across all platforms, we significantly reduced friction and increased conversion rates.
Conversion-Optimized Layouts Every page was redesigned with a singular focus on the user’s next step. By streamlining navigation and highlighting key features like "Commission-Free Trading" and "Satisfaction Guarantees," we created an intuitive path for users. This strategic placement of high-contrast CTAs and clear service menus led to measurable growth in new account openings and long-term retention.
